What is a befriender?

A befriender is a regular friendly face who will visit you to spend some quality time with you.

What will a befriender do on a visit?

A befriender will tailor their visits to your needs and interests. They are there to listen and offer conversation and reconnect you to the community.

How often does a befriender visit?

Your befriender can visit you as often as you would like, the majority of members have 6 hours per week where others can have 14+ hours per week. Minimum time per visit is 1 hour.

Is it always the same befriender?

We believe clients would benefit more from having two or three befrienders to offer a variety of conversation and skills.

How do I pay?

We will invoice on a fortnightly basis which can be paid via cash, cheque or bank transfer.

What if I need to cancel?

We require a 24-hour notice to rearrange a visit (there is no charge for this). Visits cancelled within 24-hours are charged the full visit fee.

Does my befriender have a DBS check?

All befrienders have been DBS checked and have Public Liability Insurance.
